User account theme selection screen.

"Christ, man. I'd only just gotten used to the last theme" - Kiell.

I've made another site theme, and it is back to black. Despite the substantial amount of time I spent trying to lighten things up with the Bryter Layter theme, I was never fully happy with it.

Charcoal is much closer to my ideal. It is lightweight, which equals fast load times. It uses the space more smartly, especially on the full story view where the sidebar disappears. I gave up on fluid width -- in theory it is nice but is a bitch to maintain and develop content on. Seems a lot of the big sites are moving to fixed width. And lastly it is sexy ya? It looks great in Firefox, especially (I hate to admit) on a Mac. The Mac OS X font selection and anti-aliasing in browsers kicks Windows' ass.

Of course the other themes are all still available in your account settings. As always, feedback and bug reports are greatly appreciated.

I like it, but something doesn't seem quite right with the background. Bit lighter or a pattern would be nice. Kinda like arddeco... Sticking out tongue

I'm liking it. Tried switching back to arddeco but couldn't handle it for some reason. Maybe all the change is making me cling to what is here in front of me.

Dang, I just cant beat the original.

I'll keep maintaining arddeco as well. I took out the sidebars on full article/forum thread view and changed the logo.

Oh, and I darkened the background on Charcoal a bit. Looks better I think.

I like the new design, but I

I like the new design, but I notice a minor problem. When you log in, you can't read your user name as you type it in (white on yellow). Also can you only log out from the home page? I'm not trying to be that nit-picking asshole; these are trivial complaints. Kudos on an awesome website and the new design.

The login *should* be white

The login *should* be white text with a black background. What browser and OS are you using? It appears as if your CSS stylesheet may not be loading properly. Try hitting refresh, clear your cache, etc.

As for logging out, yes you can only do so where the sidebar appears -- homepage or any main subsection page (links at top).

I'm using Firefox 3.5.1 on XP. The password is white text on black, it's just the username that's white text on yellow.

Yep, I can confirm this bug.

Yep, I can confirm this bug. Just logged out and when I went to log in, the username text box is yellow.

Interestingly, when I did log out, it didn't seem to log me out at all - the page still showed the 'my account' bit in the sidebar and there was no login box. By appearance it looked as though I hadn't logged out but a few clicks confirmed that I had.

Just tried it again and it

Just tried it again and it logged me out fine. Seemed to be a one off. Will try again tomorrow.

Gah, of course I can't

Gah, of course I can't replicate this Sad When the username is white on yellow, the field is editable yes? Like you can type in it? This is so weird. Not sure if any of you are web developers, but if you are using FireBug, it would make my day if you could post the CSS used on the field. Mine always looks like this:

textarea, select, input.text, input.form-text, input.title {
background:#1F1F1F none repeat scroll 0 0;
border:1px solid #6D6D6D;
color:#EEEEEE;
margin:0;
padding:2px;
}

...but I suspect yours is doing something different.

Oh and Kiell, ya...logging out can be a little buggy in Drupal. It's plagued the CMS since the beginning. Something to do with cookies n' caches n' stuff. I know if I've got two browsers of buildering.net open, logging out in one can be an issue. I might brush up on it, but I know there's a lot of Drupal sites with that problem and nobody seems to have a solution.
