There was no photog cited. The pic is part of a national archive, probably first appearing in a Washington D.C. area newspaper.
After asking Shorpy whether their photos were public domain, I received this:
"For private, non-commercial purposes you can use selected images from Shorpy.com. We ask that you not recreate the entire site or large sections of the site on your server. We would also prefer that you use the smaller image size and include a credit along with a link back to either the original post or the full-size image on Shorpy.com."
That's nice of them, but my guess is that these are public domain images (American copyright law says public domain after 50 years from publishing date) that Shorpy is attempting to claim copyright to.
I dunno, maybe the act of scanning in these old slides gives them some sort of IP, hence why they watermark the images?
Hmm. Not sure. Good that
Hmm. Not sure. Good that they have them available, at least, and I would imagine that they want to generate traffic to generate print sales which is fair enough, I guess.
How did you find it?

Woah, what a great shot! Nice find. That guy looks like a punk or something, his haircut doesn't look like it's from the late 10s!
